GTA 5, Minecraft Xbox 360 Sales Top Competitors Like Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, The Last of Us

With its scintillating game play and high end performance in the year 2013, it has been the performance of the year by GTA 5. The Rockstar Games release has clocked over 3.67 million units sale on the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Besides, the game has clocked in more sales in the first week as compared to all its competitors combined including some heavyweights such as Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, Batman: Arkham Origins, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, among others.

Similarly, Minecraft Xbox 360 edition became the best selling exclusive title surpassing records of The Last of Us. The listings were released by MCVUK for United Kingdom. The advent of the new consoles was also welcomed by gamers with Sony’s PS4 registering a sale of over 530,000 units while Microsoft’s Xbox One recorded a sale of 364,000 units. PS4 was released in the UK around November 29, 2013, while Xbox One was released a week prior to this release. GTA 5 has achieved brilliant sales around the globe with over 600,000 copies sold in Japan, and generating more than $800 million in worldwide revenue within 24 hours of its release. It is the fastest selling game of all time in the United Kingdom with sales of 2.25 million editions in less than a week. GTA 5 is expected to gather new numbers with its imminent PC release in March 2014.
