iPad Mini Retina vs. Samsung Galaxy Tab PRO 8.4: The CES 2014 Mini Tablet Launch to Woo You?

tab_hero_ipadminiKorean handset maker Samsung has officially introduced a new line of exciting tablets at the recently held Consumer Electronics Show in the city of Las Vegas. Here, Samsung unveiled four metal slabs that are all set to take the tablet market by storm.

One of these exciting tablets Samsung unveiled is the Galaxy TabPro 8.4. This will be an 8-inch tablet which is expected to give head-to-head competition to Apple’s iPad Mini which comes equipped with Retina Display.

Much like the Galaxy Note 3, even the Galaxy TabPro 8.4 from Samsung will be sporting a casing of faux leather.  The iPad Mini which comes equipped with Retina Display, comes enclosed in aluminum casing which Apple is famous for.

Screen Display

The Galaxy TabPro 8.4 from Samsung features a stunning 8.4-inch LCD display screen with a pixel resolution of 1,600 x 2,560 and 360 ppi pixel density. This tablet from Samsung packs in one of the most pixel-dense display screens in the tablet market and delivers vivid, realistic and rich colors to the user. The second generation Apple Mini Retina settles with  7.9-inch Retina display screen with a pixel resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 and 326 ppi pixel density.

A 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset processor powers the Samsung Galaxy TabPro 8.4 which is further backed up by a RAM cache of 2 GB. Indeed, one can look ahead for lightening fast processing. The iPad Mini Retina also delivers equally impressive performance since it is powered by A7 chipset featuring 64-bit architecture along with M7 motion co-processor.

Storage

Buyers can choose between a 16 GB or a 32 GB model of the Samsung Galaxy TabPro 8.4. It supports extendable memory up to 64 GB. The iPad Mini Retina comes in 16, 32, 64 and 128 GB variants.
