A campaign, trending with #ChallengeAccepted hashtag aims to highlight “women support women” and has filled our Instagram feed with beautiful, raw black and white pictures of women, posting selfies or photos with their faces. The purport of the “challenge accepted” trend is that these B&W photos endorse female empowerment.
Women from all across the globe are nominating friends to take part in the campaign and provides a platform for women to support each other. Till date, over 5 million B&W striking photos have been posted with the hashtag #ChallengeAccepted; while many more have appeared without it.
Bollywood celebs have taken on their official handle to share black and white pictures of themselves, Right from Katrina Kaif to Sonam K Ahuja to Bhumi Pednekar, KarishmaKappor, AnanyaPanday, Dia Mirza, Tara Sutaria, and Mira Kapoor, all have shared B&W photos with the hashtag ‘Challenge Accepted’.
The trending challenge also saw some write ‘what a fun & easy way to lift and empower each other, as women” indicating that this challenge is all about positivity and women empowerment.
The #ChallengeAccepted hashtag is trending like a chain mail, and has garnered the attention of everyone alike. The challenge gained momentum after recent remarks made by an American politician against Alexandria Occasio Cortez, US Congress representative, where he called her “a f**king bitch.”
According to Instagram spokes person, the #ChallengeAccepted hashtag is “meant to celebrate strength, spread love, and remind all women that supporting each other is everything.”
To pay ode to “being woman”, the captions of some of these B&W challenge espouse the virtues of women. Even Hollywood celebrities took on their Instagram handle and posted strikingly beautiful B&W photos to show their support and love to all the women out there.
