IBM has taken an in initiative to prepare IT professionals enhance their technology skills, so that they can perform better in their jobs. A series of programme and training courses have been prepared for educators which will gives students better ability to face real world challenges.
This step by IBM would fill the gap outlines in IBM’s Tech Trends Report released today.
According to the report, authored by the IBM Center for Applied Insights, only 1 in 10 organizations has the skills needed to effectively apply advanced technologies such as business analytics, mobile computing, cloud computing and social business.
“Having a highly skilled workforce is critical to an organization’s ability to innovate, meet client demands and grow,” said Jim Corgel, general manager academic and developer relations, IBM. “In response to the growing IT skill gap, IBM is expanding its skill development programs in key areas such as cyber security, mobile computing and commerce.”

As per the US Bureau of Labor Statistics IT jobs are on a raise. It is expected to grow 22% by 2020.
