In the tech world of today, big surely is in – look at how the screen size of the current range of smartphones seems to be growing. If it was the HTC One with its 4.7-inch screen, it got bigger with the Samsung Galaxy S4 with its 5-inch screen. And now, we hear that the iPhone 6 could be a phablet with a 5.5-inch screen.
But, as gorgeous as these big screens look, it’s getting harder to carry around these high end smartphones, especially in pockets. Which is why to go with the flow, fashion designers are now coming up with bigger pant pockets, especially for our large smartphones and phablets.
Major clothing companies like Dockers, Banana Republic, etc. have been experimenting with new pocket designs to accommodate these massive smartphones conveniently and practically. But even as they come up with pockets that can fit devices like the HTC One and Galaxy S4, the problem’s only going to get worse.
In the works is the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which is expected to have a 6-inch screen. And if you thought that would be hard to pocket, think about how you’d carry around Huawei’s upcoming device with its 6.5-inch display! And it’s not like these massive gadgets can be clipped to the belt anymore. Wonder if we’re going to see lots of innovation in the fashion industry due to our bulging technologies.
