As the world is gearing up to witness the performances of their favorite athletes from around the world at the London Olympics 2012, the tech wizards are working together to make sure that more people can watch the games at a real-time and live instead of watching the recorded tape of the event hours later.

Now that all of us know that NBC is the authorized broadcaster for the Olympics, the channel has decided that this year it will stream more footage of the event, but only those who will authenticate themselves as pay TV subscribers can view these footages.

In order to authenticate yourself as a pay TV subscriber with access to both CNBC and MSNBC, all you need to do is log on to or download NBC’s mobile app, and start the authentication process, once the process is complete you will be asked to select your pay TV provider. Once that is done, you will be taken to your provider’s website, where you will have to log in with your username and password.

However, if you do not have an online account with your cable operator, then you can use NBC’s other option where the company will provide you with a form, that can be used for viewing the games, but only for four hours.

Once your authentication is complete, you can easily have access to the 3,500 hours of live coverage and that too as per your convenience. You can watch the games live at NBC’s official website When watching it on the website, you will also have the option to watch only what you wish to watch.

If that is not your style, then there are dedicated apps for iPads, iPhones and iPods that you can download on your device and start enjoying the games, but here too you will first need to authenticate with your TV subscriber.

Users with no Android device have nothing to get disappointed about as they too can have access to live streaming through an Android app. Even here, all users will have to authenticate themselves.

And, this is not all. You can not only have access to live videos but also get all the additional information that you may need to get. For instance, NBC together with Adobe has built a special App where in users can watch the performances of athletes and other videos. And, the good news is you don’t need to authenticate here.

Furthermore, you can also use Shazam, the sound tagging app in order to get minute by minute results and polls of the Olympics. You can also make use of BuddyTV’s online TV guide in order to get details of the competitions that are going to take place during the day or the event.

Play-up’s new version of PlayUp’s sports-centric is yet another app that you can download and use to express your views and chat with like minded people.

Have access to any of these to keep the spirit of Olympics alive!
