Today, Sony Mobile India launched its under RS 10000 Xperia phone , Xperia tipo. The phone is available in single SIM as well as Dual SIM variant. The phone runs on Andriod 4.0(Ice Cream Sandwich ) and has been brought in the market to give tough competition to Samsung Galaxy Ace and HTC Desire C.
The phone boasts of a 3.2 inch touch screen which is powered by 800 MHz Qulacomm Snapdragon processor. The phone has the capacity of 2.5 GB which is expandable till 32 GB. Users of Xperia Tipo can also store movies, music and data in cloud storage via Box which is upto 50 GB
Sony wants to bank upon the music capability of the device, so that youth can be lured . They have made offer of Xperia tipo more exciting by tying up with Vodafone to offer 500MB of data free for three months for Xperia tipo buyers.
At the launch event, Sony India’s MD Kenichiro Hibi said, “The company’s market share in India is 9-10%, and the company has plans to raise this figure aggresively. The company will also expand the exclusive Xperia Store network in the country”
Keeping the youth in mind Sony has priced Xperia tipo at Rs 9,999, while its dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) version Xperia tipo dual is priced at Rs 10,449.
