Google has at last released an iOS form of its Google Play Movies and TV App. One can use it to stream the content, but surely you cannot buy anything. The application has been designed for iPad as well as iPhones. Streaming video will only work through Wi-Fi and TV shows are restricted to United States, United Kingdom and Japan users. However, the Chromecast users on iOS have another reason to celebrate as they can stream videos via HDMI dongle too.
Google launched Play Movies to iOS just after two months of its releasing Play Music on the same podium. The app will be available in Canada, but it adheres to the traditional Google card based design and the UI navigation is smooth without any lagging. The Canadians don’t have any access to TV content, but if Google launches it in Canada, it will support out of the box.
Well, we shall wait and see if there is any spec like offline viewing coming from Google in the near future. As of now, users just have an alternate media library to browse and stream without any buying or renting feature.
