For all of you thinking about buying the Google Nexus 7 tablet, there’s a new version of it set to come out in July this year. We’ve heard that it could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and will be made by Asus itself. The Qualcomm chip will make the new Nexus 7 a lot more power efficient.
In addition, the tablet’s also going to get redesigned a little and could come with a thinner bezel. The price, however, is expected to remain the same – $199, but that could make the current model cheaper, possibly even down to $149. Or maybe Google plans to discontinue the current model and bring out the new one at a new price.
The company is hoping to sell around 8 million of these new tablets, and looks like it’s all set to take on the likes of the Apple iPad Mini and the Amazon Kindle Fire. As Android has anyway established itself in the mobile device market, it would help Google to get more hardware out to further drive revenues.
