Google and Samsung recently signed a cross-licensing deal on technology patents that would allow them to stay ahead of competition like Apple. However, it seems Google has now asked Samsung to curb its Android custom user interface, called Magazine. Samsung showcased Magazine UX at CES 2014 with the Galaxy Note Pro and Tab Pro tablets. It is being said that Samsung would not replicate any of Google’s core apps on the Galaxy range of products. This means, they would either have to get rid of Magazine UX altogether or alter its use significantly.
If reports are to be believed, this could result in Samsung putting an end to its ChatOn and WatchOn apps that convert Google users to Samsung users.
