The most expected SUV of 2013 Ford Eco Sport is in its final phase of testing. The SUV would be churned out by a plant in Maraimalainagar, Chennai. The car has already gone on sale in Brazil and it is being seen as a tough competitor to the just launched Renault Duster.
A source, on the condition of anonymity has revealed that the EcoSport with 1.0L generating 125 hp, will deliver a mileage of 17 kmpl.
The pricing and launch date of the car are still kept under wraps as the car is still going through last minute touches
The sales of Ford cars saw a upsurge in October 2012. Sales during the month took a hike of 10,948 units as against 10,906 units in October 2011. For the year 2013 the company has its eyes set on EcoSport which is going to be a volume puller and would compete against Renault Duster and Mahindra Quanto.
