It has been long that we pitted two laptops against each other that were as powerful as Macbook Pro 13 with Retina and Dell XPS 13. At around $1299 and with 13 incher displays onboard, there are chances that both win this battle. Moreover, the design specs for both are so good that at best—they are a draw. The Macbook Pro is sleek with an aluminum uni-body that renders it extra class; the Dell XPS 13 is made from carbon fiber with an aluminum frame as well. The soft touch style makes it lighter and the edge-to-edge screen style is a winner. The touch and key styles fare better on the Macbook Pro 13 incher as does the backlit style.
The Dell XPS 13 is not slow in terms of performance thanks to the Intel Core i5-4200U CPU, 1.6 GHz clock speed and Turbo Boost speed of 2.6 GHz. However, this sheens off against the Macbook Pro 13, thanks to the Intel Core i5-4258U processor with a base clock of 2.4 GHz and Turbo Boost 2.9 GHz. Both laptops come with 128GB SSD RAMs but the Apple can be upgraded to 1 TB while the Dell can go up until 256GB only.
Battery Life Weighed
The Macbook Pro 13 lasts six hours, 23 minutes on a standard browsing usage while the Dell XPS 13 takes honors here with seven hours and 48 minutes battery life.
