2013 has seen the successful releases of Google Nexus 5, and Nexus 7 that hit the streets a few weeks ago. But what about the largest Nexus device at the moment, the Google Nexus 10?
Well, here is what we can dig out of the online rumour mill. There are reports that suggest that the successor to Google Nexus 10 will be out any time ahead. Many whisperings are going around as to what the specifications would be and how it would perform viz-a-viz the previous generation Nexus 10. Here’s a look:
Nexus 10 vs Nexus 10 2:
- Display
Google Nexus 10 has 10.1-inch, Super PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen having a resolution 2560 x 1600p. Over 16 million colors can be display by the screen that has a pixel density of 299ppi. Gorilla glass 2 coating is used for screen protection against scratches. The recent Nexus 10 will have the exact same display. Baffling, isn’t it? Although Gorilla Glass 3 coating is expected to be used for the new Nexus 10 device.
- Power:
Nexus 10 is powered by a dual-core 1.7GHz Exynos 5250 processor chip, with 2GB of RAM. 16 and 32GB variant of Nexus 10 are available. The recent Nexus 10 version is rumored to be powered by an updated quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and Adreno 330 GPU. It will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage as a standard.
- Measurements:
Nexus 10 – 263.9 x 177.6 x 8.9mm, weighing 603 g
We have no word on Nexus 10 2 measurement. It is expected that the weight and size won’t be any similar to the previous generation. A few mm here and there will be shed off, a thinner bezel and reduced depth is expected. Weight loss will definitely be welcome, as it has a direct bearing on the portability of the device.
- Camera:
Nexus 10 included a 5MP camera with autofocus, LED, touch focus, face detection and geo tagging. 1080p HD recording was possible at 30fps. Latest Nexus 10 may have 8MP camera with all features that came with Nexus 10 camera, and also some extra features. 2.1 MP secondary camera will be included in Nexus 10 for video calling.
