Latest reports from the Threat Fabric names five Android apps which might steal banking data that you have on the smartphone.
How these apps steal?
These apps make use of the banking Trojan named Sharkbot to get hold of login credentials, account numbers, and similar financial information. The data helps such attackers snatch money from a bank account. At first glance, the Trojan malware apps are simply like any of the legitimate apps. However, the malware dropper camouflages as a regular app that lets you calculate say, taxes in some country.
There is an app listed under the name Codice Fiscale in Play Store having 10,000 installs that checks up the Country of SIM registration. The main apps to stay away from are-
