iPhone 6 vs iPhone 6 Plus: Size, Design or Something More?

When you have decided you want to buy Apple’s latest smartphone, it can be difficult to decide whether you want the iPhone 6 of the iPhone 6 Plus. If they are both vying for your attention, here is what you need to know. Besides the difference in their size, there are many minor variations that exist between these two top-end phones from Apple. It’s iPhone 6 vs iPhone 6 Plus.iPhone-5S

Design

There isn’t much of a variation in terms of design as both the phones are made of Aluminium with the trademark Apple logo on the backside. The iPhone 6 plus is bit thicker (7.1 mm) as compared to iPhone 6(6.8 mm).

Shades are similar and you will find both the phones in dark grey/silver, light grey/silver and light golden shades.

Screen

This is one major area in which iPhone 6 Plus scores over iPhone 6. The screen size in iPhone 6 Plus is 5.5 inch in comparison to 4.7 inch screen size of iPhone 6. The display technology is remarkably similar with both using IPS displays. iPhone 6 Plus offers a pixel density of 400 ppi in comparison to 326 ppi of iPhone 6.

Camera

Apart from redesigning of sensors nothing much has changed in the camera which is much similar to what one saw in iPhone 5S. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have an 8 megapixel sensor which offer 1.5 micron sensor pixels. The only distinct demarcation between the camera feature in both these phones is the presence of optical image stabilization in iPhone 6 Plus while the other variant has the characteristic software stabilization.

Clicking worthy pictures in low light resolution will be easier in iPhone 6 Plus in comparison to iPhone 6.

Software

Not much progress on this front as both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus run on iOS8 and will give UI experience much similar to the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. Access to App Store will be much better in both these variants in comparison to previous models though. Better battery life is also guaranteed as iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus offer 11 and 12 hours of browsing.

Apple has undoubtedly worked hard to rise to the occasion and both these phones are likely to leave a positive impression for any technology buff. Take your pick and keep following us for the latest developments.… Read the rest

Apple Feels Sorry For iOS 8 Update Bug

US-based tech giant Apple has apologized to the customers of its newly launched Apple Feels Sorry For Its iOS 8 Update BugiPhones after issuing an update to its mobile operating system. The customers were unable to make or receive call as a result of the bug. The users who installed the newly launched iOS 8.0.1 on their devices also faced issues as with the Touch ID fingerprint facility.

The company has issued the update in less than a week after it commercially launched its smartphones in order to resolve other issues.

Apple also updated that it is presently working on a new version. It has been quoted saying that, “We have a workaround for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who lost cellular service and Touch ID functionality today after updating to iOS 8.0.1. Affected users can reinstall iOS 8 through iTunes. We apologize for the great inconvenience experienced by users, and are working around the clock to prepare iOS 8.0.2 with a fix for the issue, and will release it as soon as it is ready in the next few days.”

Apple has also released a support document that will enable customers to go back to their previous version of the operating system after following some easy instructions.

The company immediately pulled out the iOS 8.0.1 update in less than one hour after it was issued online. MacRumors has said that the update caused connectivity problems for subscribers to certain mobile carriers. Countries most affected by this include UK, Germany, US and Canada.

Apple has also said that the update was instead meant to fix some other bugs such as one where a bug caused unplanned data usage upon receiving text messages. There were also some issues related to the use of apps.

This scenario is very common where tech companies releases updates to fix bugs immediately after the launch of a major new version of software, but is not very common where a company recall the code.

However, there is no official information available as of now about when the company is going to shut the service down, according to multiple sources of TechCrunch.

The company’s recently launched flagship smartphones, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, have not been equipped with built-in app and there was not any announcement of integration during the release of Apple Watch. This shows that the company is all set to permanently get rid of the brand.

It was also widely reported that the multi-billion dollar acquisition of Beats by Apple is not related to Beats Music, but was all about bringing co-founders Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine into the Apple fold.
