The wait is over. Apple has finally refreshed its line of products, with the newer generation Macbook Pros having retina display. The non-retina display models have been discarded by the tech giant. The 15-inch retina display Macbook Pro is finally here. Here is a take on this laptop:
The brand new MacBook Pro is slimmer and lighter compared to the non-retina models. Do not expect it to be as featherweight as the MacBook Air quality, but this is a great news for people used to bulkier versions.
The 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro packs the fourth generation quad-core haswell Intel Core i7 processors that speed up to 2.3 GHz and turbo boost speeds reaching around 3.5 GHz. Intel Iris Pro graphics take the graphics performance to a whole new higher level.
Up to nine hours of battery life can be expected from this device. It is one powerhouse as far as battery performance is concerned.
Update in the components
PCIe-based flash storage speeds up flash storage time by sixty percent. 802.11 ac WiFi promises a wireless performance thrice as good when connection to 802.11 ac base station. There are two USB 3.0 ports and two thunderbolt ports that can deliver bandwidth up to 20Gbps for each connected device.
The great news for Apple aficionados is the 15-in Retina display MacBook Pro is priced at $1,999 inspite of all the promised value addition.
