Acer has planned to launch its $99 tablet as new year gift for its avid fans according to a anonymous sources for the Wall Street Journal.
The budget tablet from Acer would sport a 7-inch screen and would run on Andriod 4.1 Jelly Bean. It has been rumored that Acer has decided to call it Iconia B1.
Acer is planning to bring out a cheaper version of Tablet as it is trying to capture the market in the developing countries. It is doubt full that weather the $99 tablet would see light of day in the U.S. especially at such a cheaper price.
Budget tablets with a seven inch screen have been mushrooming left right and center. Iconia B1 would be contesting against Apple iPad Mini which has been priced, Amazon’s Kindle Fire, hugely popular at around $160. And Google’s just-launched Nexus 7 is selling online from around $200 to $330 or so.
