So yes, finally October 23rd happened, and Apple did unveil the iPad Mini – rumors of which literally went around the world twice! It’s all of 7.9 inches, you can get in line for pre-ordering it from October 26 onwards, and it starts at $329 for the 16GB model with WiFi connectivity and goes all the way up to $649 for the high-end model. We love that it’s timed to come out just in time for the holiday season, so if you are still in the market scouting for a present, might we suggest getting the iPad Mini?
The iPad Mini is all set to go up against the likes of Google Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD, and a host of other Android tablets that are already out in the market. Of course, the Apple tag will give this tab an elitist appeal, but we wonder if the price tag could be considered a downer from the consumer’s perspective, especially when there are many other 7-inch tablets available in the $200 range.
It weighs all of 0.68 pounds, and is as sleek as a tablet can get. The iPad Mini is also equipped with Apple’s famed Retina Display technology to give you a brilliant resolution on the screen. We’re especially thrilled that the iPad Mini’s launch was timed perfectly to come out around the same time as Microsoft unveiled its Windows 8 and Windows RT OS, as well as the Surface tablet. Now, who’s going to emerge as the leader among the tablets?
