According to technology research firm Analysys International, the market for tablet PCs in China grew at 62.5% in the third quarter with a unit sale of 2.6 million compared to the previous year. At the same time, the Apple iPad was the most popular buy in that category. The Apple iPad garnered more than 2/3rd of the total tablets sold in the quarter.

The report said that while 2.6 million tablet PCs were sold in China this quarter, the number stood at 1.6 million in the same period last year. Apple had 71.4% per market share, which is one percent lower compared to the second quarter. It stays ahead of Lenovo, which has 10.5% of the market. Chinese maker Ereneben stood third at 3.6% and Samsung came later with 3.5%.
