There’s some potentially exciting news for tech enthusiasts – word on the digital street is that the MacBook Pro 16-inch with an Apple M1X processor will be faster than the M1 processor. Sources around the net have suggested that the processor will be introduced with a larger MacBook Pro, though Apple has not given out any information yet.
The tipster who gave these details further added that the name of the processor is not final, referring to it simply as M1X processor.
The tipster known as LeaksApplePro, tweeted that the 16-inch MacBook Pro would be equipped with the new M1X processor. This is said to be a more powerful processor than the M1 processor available in the latest MacBook models.
According to the leaks, the M1X processor will come with 12 cores, (while the M1 processor stands at eight cores), with eight being performance cores and four being the efficiency cores.
It is thought that this will be revealed as a part of a press release, but the dates are not known. “If you think M1 is fast, you haven’t seen M1X,” has now become a famous quote by the tipster who let out this information in the first place.
The performance of the Apple M1X processor is something to be excited about, as the M1 processor already works very well for smaller machines. Reports further suggest that a 14-inch MacBook Pro laptop with a M1 processor may be launched next year too.
Apple launched a series of MacBook Air, Mac mini, and MacBook Pro with M1 processors this year, all with the same design features as the previously Intel-powered MacBook models.
M1-powered laptops are also said to be outperforming their Intel counterparts, reports suggest, in terms of performance and many other benchmarks. This is in tune with information from before that a 12-core Arm processor will be added to the Apple-sphere.
Benchmarks being set by the Apple M1 processors are already impressive, with a competitive multi-core performance, and lightning fast speed.
As far as the 16-inch MacBook Pro which is in the works, not many major design changes are being expected, and it will in all probability be introduced in a press release with no Keynote address that Apple is famous for. The 16-inch MacBook Pro is already a new design which does not need any embellishments. However, the M1X processor may add to the features – like a doubled-up battery life, very similar to the 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.
