After Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy 5 it’s LG’s Turn to Go Flexible With LG Optimus G Pro Successor

All set to start the ball rolling, LG Electronics will begin the mass production of flexible display panels by fourth quarter 2013. Earlier this year, Samsung too uncovered its ‘Youm’ flexible display at the International CES event. Now with LG in line, who’ll supply the flexible display first is going to be an interesting race to watch.

In a statement by LG, the firm announced the application of 4.5th generation glass-cutting technology for the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) flexible displays. It also announced the production capacity of making around 12,000 sheets in a month, which will commence in the second half of 2013.

Touted as being more durable and strong, flexible display panels are designed to easily twist and turn. These innovative displays follow new flexible technology and are thinner and lighter. Smartphones made with these displays will be flexible yet tough and long-lasting.
