The latest to come out of Acer’s Arsenal is Aspire S5 and it is here to give a furious competition to the king of laptops: the thin and sleek Macbook air.
Acer Aspire S5 is one of the thinnest ultrabooks and with the dimension of 12.77 x 8.95 x 0.59 it stands strong in front of Macbook Air (11.8 x 7.56 x 0.68). Again in terms of weight both the net books are neck to neck, Aspire S5 weighs 2.65 lbs where as Macbook Air is around 2.38 lbs. Now let’s come down to technical specification of both the net books:

Looking at the technical specification what impresses in Aspire S5 is its 9GHz Intel Core i7 processor which makes for a great user experience. Though Acer Aspire S5 is thin thanks to its “MagicFlip I/O Port” which hides the ports-and-connection blocks, its battery life is a downer as compared to Macbook air which can stay in standby mode for 30 days.
Aspire S5 does not have a back lit keyboard. It is here where Apple scores as it has a beautiful back lit keyboard which makes it a breeze to use in low light situation. Now comes the price Acer Aspire ( Rs. 55000 -60000 ) is cheaper than Macbook Air (Rs. 67000-99000). So if you are not a die hard Apple fan and price is factor than Acer Aspire S5 is the best bet for you.
